Life history of C.P. Ramanujam, a Loyola alumnus
Here is the life history of C. P. Ramanujam (9 Jan 1938 – 27 Oct 1974), a Loyola alumnus (BA Hons. Maths, 1957), who later turned a genius in algebra. Sadly, he suffered severe depression throughout his career and eventually took his own life with an overdose of barbiturates. Reading his story, I remember Prof. NS Gnanapragasam of Loyola Chemistry department whose career has striking resemblance to that of CPR. Both, CPR and NSG were identified and promoted by Jesuit priests, the former by Rev. Fr. Racine and the latter by Rev. Fr. Yeddanapalli. (I last met NSG in 1999, does anyone know his whereabouts?)
